Resources for Teachers & Parents
End of Grade (EOG) State Tests
As the North Carolina End of Grade (EOG) state tests approach, many parent and teachers have reached out to me requesting help with their anxious students. Testing anxiety is common among students as state and federal assessments become longer and more rigorous. Helping your child or student manage the stress of an upcoming test can help not only their performance on the test, but their ability to self-soothe in future high-stress situations. I have compiled a list of resources and books for you to use with any children whom you believe are suffering from testing anxiety.

Released Tests from NC Department of Public Instruction (DPI)
DPI has released one form of the test for each grade level and subject tested in the 2012–13 school year. On their website, DPI states:
"Released test forms may be used by school systems to help acquaint students with valuable test taking strategies in summative assessment situations. These strategies may include managing time, following directions, understanding reading selections, and thinking through how to select the correct answer. Released test forms may be used by parents and the general public in gaining a greater understanding of how the NC Standard Course of Study for English Language Arts and Mathematics and the Essential Standards for Science are measured."
To get a copy of the 1) ELA/Reading, 2) Math and 3) Science EOG tests from the 2012-2013 school year, visit this website and scroll down to these two boxes:
